Hi Bear. I really appreciate the free subscription. I am retired and my wife took early retirement in January to look after me following my cancer diagnosis.
The outcome of that has been positive . 👍🙂
We have taken a hit to our income and as much as I’d love to contribute one has to watch one’s expenditure.
With the state of the media there are lots of very experienced journalists (Carole Cadwalder) trying to earn a living in a fragmented market. Add in podcasts and one could starve supporting great interesting work.
I sympathise. But they are not my priority.
I really, really enjoy your work. It cuts through the crap that is in danger of swamping us.
Dear Bear, thank you for allowing free access to your work. I have a minds eye picture of what I think you look like based on you words and voice……I’m usually miles out when I conjure up a picture of someone. It would be good to put a face to you however I totally understand why you would be private. So I will wait until you turn up on Question Time. Best wishes.
Hi Bear, I'm always happy to get your emails. I prefer quality over quantity which is why I went for the answers like "when there's something to say". If that's every day, that's fine with me if you're doing it for a reason and not simply to meet a schedule. Keep the personal stuff in there at whatever level you're comfortable with, it's what makes your writing real and grounded.
I always love seeing an email from you in my inbox (((Bear))) 🐻 I would have loved to have been able to pick a couple of options in a few of the questions! I really enjoy the deep dive into politics, as much as your more personal emails, so in a few of the questions, it was hard to choose. But, whatever happens, thank you so much for your much appreciated contribution to my life 🐻❤️ Xx
Love what you're doing Bear, and wish you'd made some of those questions multiple choice. For the next year, I think politics across the pond might become very interesting - might be fun to bring some irreverence to a (hopefully) slowly-puncturing balloon.
Love reading your pieces and would subscribe if able and circumstances were different. Keep sharing your thoughts - the world we’re living in is complex and I look forward to your sanity and humour.
I’m afraid I can’t currently afford a regular paid subscription. But I’d happily chip in regularly if you had a “buy me a coffee” option. Feels churlish not to reward your time and talent. You’re one of my favourite & most read accounts here.
There are two commentators I look forward to seeing in my inbox and you’re definitely one of them, Bear. My subscription is the best use of money I can think of and I find myself nodding sagely as I read. I can’t wait to see your thoughts about the Tories’ reverse Robin Hood policies.
For anyone wondering about the other one, check out Richard Murphy.
I kive your humour and your take on politics. I do prefer more succinct contributions but I understand its not your style. I try to keep up to the end without losing your drift though.
I'd like more time to read them, but that's on me, not you.
I like the humour and the swearing.

I wouldn't change a thing on the 'if it aint broke don't fix it' principle.
If it aint broke don't fix it!
Thank you Bear, I reslly appreciate and enjoy your writing

Just right what the fuck you want. It's your blog.

Question 4 - I wanted to tick all the options! I ended up clicking the second one but the first is also very important to me. Keep up the great work!
