Hi, Bear. I think you already know that I love your work. I’m think your subscription model is fair. I am currently without the income from my PIP (bloody neoliberalism, which thinks disability is a personal choice or a character flaw, or that we should just pull ourselves up by our bootstraps and get over ourselves) and I made a list of Substacks I could stop paying for, yours was not on the list.
Your day job must be so stressful. Like everyone in the NHS you are being asked to do more with fewer resources. I thank you for your service though.
Thanks for this Adminny post Mr Bear, a timely reminder for all of your new readers, along with older ones such as myself, of your reasons for professionalising your political prose.
I have every faith in you achieving your ambitions for this to become your full time career but I have a question for you that I hope you would reply to.
If in a few years you really hit the heights of political punditry, would you accept invitations from media outlets to appear on TV programs like Question Time, Daily Politics, Good Morning Britain, Jeremy Vine etc to give your opinions to an audience.
I think we, your readers, would relish that sight but I wonder if you would feel same.
This is one of those things I have considered - though I do worry I have a bit of a face for radio, so we’ll have to see how that goes, but I would not, as a rule, say no completely.
"Running around like a blue arsed Bear" had me in creases.... I just love reading your amazing articles, and 99.9% of the time I agree with you wholeheartedly. I really appreciate the time, care and honesty that you give out. I'd believe you over the majority of so called " proper " journalists. Thank you for just being you, you are very loved ❤️🐻 xxxxx.
Best value £40 sub I ever took out, that's for sure. I know I have something worth reading when I see a Substack notification from you. You single handedly hauled me over here, suggested I read around a bit, and stopped me from engaging with the sewer quite so much. Having actual grown up conversations over here is so much more pleasant. I have blocked a few of the people who persist in posting their links and nothing else into your chat, but I have also found many others to follow and read. My own content is simmering at the moment. Like you, life's been a bit hectic lately, and everything has to work around the endless medical appointments as well as work. I don't have the luxury of 05:00 being my natural time of day, sadly. (I also don't have a furdaemon who thinks it should be, unfortunately.) But we'll get there. I think there are a few weekends where I will have both days to myself soon. I'll look forward to your comments when I start posting. In the meantime, more power to your little finger. When I'm done with this medical stuff (some time next year, don't hold your breath), we'll have to talk about editing, as I am a complete geek and quite enjoy it.
I love what you write Bear, i am sure you know that! You deserve and your writing deserves to go much much further. I would love to see you on a programme such as Question time or a radio show such as LBC, I think you’d be formidable. I’m sure I speak for the many when I say thank you for doing what you do especially with such a stressful job!

I like to read your stuff Bear for the same reason I have subscribed to the "Quiet Riot" podcast.

Hello Steve,

🐻
You'd blow them away with your wit, insights and delivery, I have no doubt about that.
See you onscreen I'm sure, 👏👏👍
Love!
