Firstly, his father might have died anyway and the fact that it was post vaccination could very well be a coincidence. If his father was that frail, and the vaccine in any way contributed to his death, then as sure as eggs are eggs, his father would have more than likely died if he'd caught Covid. Maybe it should be looked at that people who post damaging misinformation should be taken to task, certainly the GMC should be looking at his comments regarding vaccines. When I had my child and discussed vaccination, I was told, that yes there might be a small risk, but, if that was the case, should my child go on to actually catch the disease, it would almost certainly do a lot more damage than the vaccine would cause. I take and my son takes, any and every vaccine offered to us. I've survived to 72 and my son is still going strong. I was able to work in a small corner shop all through Covid without any problem.

I think I said elsewhere that when you have seen one adolescent die over around 18 or so months of SSPE as a consequence of a slow viral brain insult from measles acquired in childhood, you don’t need to see it again. Ever. I was no stranger to terrible illnesses at the time (a doctor), but this one has stuck with me. I cannot fathom the opposition of the educated to this blessing of contemporary medicine.

Engriefed should be a word.

I shall, once more, be getting my Flu and COVID vaccines (assuming one is offered), probably one in each arm, this year at the earliest opportunity 👍

Is it wrong that I don’t mind if all of Deform’s supporters decide not to get their flu or COVID jabs, so long as they keep their “wisdom” (and their coughs and sneezes) to / amongst themselves? 😬

I’m not a bad person really. Not that good either.

A wonderful column, bear! Personally, I'd go a little further with my advice and say that, if you can afford it and can get it, get yourself and your children [re] vaccinated against Covid-19. It hasn't gone away, and the vaccines work against the more serious forms of the disease - and, to a large extent, for a few months, against catching it and passing it on.

We hope you don’t mind us posting alongside your piece, but we think it really complements what you’re saying. The information we’ve added lines up with your points and gives a bit more of the backstory. Thanks again, we really loved your piece.

I 100% agree with you. I am hesitant of vaccines at times and being informed is important, but they do a lot of good and the ridiculous attacks on what can only be seen as free speech are just that: ridiculous and also dangerous. Excellent work!

You've been doing your due diligence on Malhotra. Well done.

The GMC has failed the medical profession once again.

I gather the BMA has urged action against Malhotra from the GMC.

Strange to promote this anti-vax narrative when the majority of Reform voters are in the 50+

age group. Killing off their core support may not be the best political strategy.

Reform seem to be replicating everything that Trump's MAGA Republicans are doing and saying. No doubt they are plugged into the same sources of finance and 'think tanks'.

We can be sure that they will behave like Trump if they ever get their hands anywhere near power, with Malhotra as their RFK.
