"The pattern of creating, arming, and then citing the existence of the very enemies the US manufactured is not an accident. It is the business model of perpetual war envisioned by the Dulles brothers and never abandoned...
"When a government lies to start a war and a million people die, and the liars face no prosecution, no tribunal, no consequence of any kind — the message is received. Not just by future leaders who now know they can lie with impunity, but by the citizenry, who absorb the lesson that truth and falsehood are functionally equivalent in the exercise of power. The Gulf of Tonkin was fabricated, and no one was punished. The WMD intelligence was manufactured, and no one was punished. The CIA runs cocaine and heroin on military aircraft, and no one was/is punished. The lies about Iraq were told on every network, in every newspaper, from every podium — and the reporters and editors and anchors who amplified them suffered no professional consequences. Many were promoted. The lies about Iran are told on every network, in every newspaper, from every podium — and the reporters and editors and anchors who amplify them suffer no professional consequences."
Wow! You have eloquently encapsulated the paranoid thinking of a wannabe dictator and his foul cabal of lieutenants. I posted recently on other social media platforms how increasingly isolated and desperate Trump is becoming with the complete lack of support he is receiving from every other country on the planet and this dovetails with my poor penmanship perfectly. Thanks for this excellent piece of work.
Seems to me that the US is becoming more and more Russian every day. Denying access to journalists the orange turd doesn’t agree with and making sure his words are reported by a sycophantic press willing to do his bidding for fear they’ll be excluded too.
A really sad state of affairs for the once great America that has all been brought about by a geriatric game show host with delusions of grandeur and a brain that is no longer capable of cognitive function.
The saddest part of this whole debacle, however, is that he is not only risking his own country (which, let’s be fair, deserves everything it has coming for electing such an awful specimen of humanity in the first place, never mind second!) but he’s destabilising the rest of the world too!
I just hope both Keir Starmer and Europe maintain their “you started this, you’re on your own, bud” attitude and leave him out to dry…
Surely the closure of the strait of Hormuz was anticipated, i.e. planned for. It damages Trump's foreign friends (China, the LDP) and allies (in the Gulf, Europe and Australia), not his US or Russian oily friends. If the European powers are unwilling to help unblock it, that's an excuse for more attacks on their interests. Zelensky has been shrewd in offering drones - but will that do Ukraine any good?
I wasn’t 100% aware of the press clamp down but I suppose that’s a big reason for the explosion in social media pundits.
I get so many emails I can’t read them all, or watch and listen to them. I have to delete stuff from two days ago. And I have started abandoning things half way thru. And I don’t work!
I learn so much about America I haven’t a clue about my own country. England.
Well argued as ever Bear. I confess I misread some words at the start and thought you said “influencer “ not influence and for a moment imagined you as Dikki Dikki Bearly Bare
There are ginger hobnobs? Where can I find these magical biscuits?!
Aside from that; as always, a well thought out post
I too was wondering about if ‘ginger hobnob’ was a thing!
And agree re the post …

The Dulles brothers are fools to concoct such a vile model.
Thank You Sean

Threaten to pull out of NATO.
Denigrate NATO forces.
Demand ownership of Greenland.
Wants to annex Canada.
Tarrifs every country.
Starts a war.
States we have the most powerfull military and don`t need help from anybody.
It goes pear shaped.
Demands help from all the countries he has spent the last year insulting.
Does not understand their lack of enthusiasm to get involved.
And now salivating over Cuba … 🙄
I do hope you're right, Mr Bear, and that the Tangerine Tyrant's days are numbered along with its cadre of skin-crawling sycophants.
Hmm- excessive alliteration: possibly indicating that I will shortly throw the phone across the room in fury...
