oh, I couldn't agree more Bear!

Every day I scream at the screen, asking WHY Labour are being so bloody useless?

It's beyond frustrating

Yes WHY?

I fear that being useless is a deliberate policy decision.

I fear that they truly do not want to be there for most people in this country and may be secretly (or openly) facilitating Reform's project to destroy any semblance of democracy in this country.

Well said as always. To have come out yesterday and the first policy announcement is to do with immigration and a crackdown is directly because of Reform having used the airways for their own rhetoric throughout the summer.

Then the lazy, weak, yes flaccid (oh the imagery) nonsense about having a flag at home. It could have been used to draw a line on the sand but of course it wasn’t. It never will be. This Government is going down the pan fast and whilst it allows Reform or anyone else to manipulate the narrative for its own advantage. It is shameful.

Bear for Prime Minister!

Seriously. You've said in a short piece, what any responsible leader of THIS Country, in THIS moment in time, should be saying to the public - from a Lectern outside Number 10, with a George Cross and Union Flag behind him, in order to start taking those flags back - away from the racist buffoons who are hiding behind them in the name of making our country "better" again.

Well said (again) Bear!

Great speech for Starmer if only he would use it. You could make a decent living doing that.

Labour and Starmer in particular have obviously has lost their moral compass and spine.

I totally agree - when my own family ( used to be Labour supporters through and through) start coming out with all of this racist rubbish that they’ve read on FB . Things that I debunked with a quick search for the truth, then I really am at a loss as to what to do. There needs to be a push back on a mammoth scale otherwise we’re all doomed xx

I wonder if what we need is a plan to attack and destroy FB, X and other similar social media platforms that fuel hate?

I worked hard at the last three General Elections to help get a Labour govt get in. Never again whilst we have such spineless leaders, Starmer hasn't got a clue. Such a massive disappointment. Starmer, you can never out-Farage him and you are driving real Labour supporters out of the party, like me.

Absolutely, I agree with every word. It's time now that the actual government called this out and also penalised those who are standing stirring the pot of hate.

I hope you’re sending this post to Kier Starmer! It is so frustrating at the moment that Labour seem hell bent on NOT challenging the Deform party. I can only think that their polling is telling them that too many voters are lining up behind Reform on the immigration issue. If that’s the case then that is scary. However without Labour pushing a strong counter narrative then more with become sympathetic to Farages racist nonsense.

Once again, quite extraordinary prose Mr. Bear.

Now, I shall add my two penneth, in more blunt terms.

Labour: You've been in charge for a year. You've just enjoyed a nice summer break. Now it's time to pull your bloody finger out and start the real hard graft!

Push back against this Reform nonsense and push back hard. Really hard!

Shout loud that you understand the frustrations felt by many, but let them know, it's not immigration causing their problems, it's wealth inequality caused by raw, unadulterated greed.

Let them know that the Labour Party fights for the labour of the country, not the wealthy and entitled elite.

If that isn't true any longer and you are controlled by money, then be warned, your Government will fail.

Processing in France has always been the best way to “stop the boats and smash the gangs”. Common sense really. Excellent read, thanks Bear

What a speech! That's exactly what is needed - and now - before the country completely turn on Starmer. Approach the new Labour comms team Bear. You never know, they just may have a vacancy for a strategist and speech writer extraordinBear!

I have just read 16 comments (all in support of your latest piece) and the majority of your respondents are women- including me! It will be interesting to see if that changes as the day moves on.

Starmer, his cabinet and advisors are a weak and spineless bunch.

To deal with Farage and company day in day out they need to be attacked. Loudly, incessantly. Ruthlessly.

Whoever thinks it is a good idea to chase reform voters is or are imbeciles.
