Farage bullied a Jewish pupil at school "Hitler was right" and he was regarded as a Nazis. There are picture(s) of him in his teens supporting the National Front and later other organisations of a similar ilk.

He has dedicated most of his life to promoting and trying to validate his own prejudices. I don't care if he might be classified as having some psychological condition. He is trying to harm other human beings because they have some different characteristics about which he has deep rooted, even pathological enmity.

And therein lies the core of the issue. It is all about him and his character and values. Nothing else matters. No consiglieri or intimate is safe from his wrath or discharge from his court if they contradict him or endanger his preeminence.

I repeat yet again here that 'there can be no act of violence without an act of detachment'.

Farage and Yaxley-Lemon (because he is yellow and bitter) are two side of the same bigoted coin. Counterfeit currency that demeans and damages the nation and the humans who inhabit it.

Thanks for this post. Interesting how Reform is also resisting scrutiny of actions ( or inaction) in local authorities. Good to see challenge in Nottingham area. It is very scary to think how much power they now have in various areas

Farage is correct when he says that he's faced discrimination from the BBC, but it's discrimination in his favour. His appearances on ‘Question Time’ alone far outnumber those of the Lib-Dems and the Green Party combined. The Green Party has had the same number of MPs throughout that period and the Lib-Dems significantly more. To be scrupulously fair, Reform did get more votes than the Greens, but not 25 times as many. He's been given an extraordinarily disproportionate amount of publicity, far exceeding what he merits. His indignation is just another piece of calculated posturing, designed to give the impression that he's the underdog, battling immense obstacles to be heard, that he's fighting for the ‘ordinary’ voter. It's palpable nonsense and he's not on anybody's side but his own. You need look no further than Reform's plans for the NHS: they want to replace it with a US style system, the most expensive in the world, no doubt so they can line their own pockets and profit from the misfortune and suffering of others.

Don't forget in 2017 our 'average Farage next door' stated he would be picking up a rifle if Brexit didn't get delivered. Very peaceful indeed

Thank you for making me laugh out loud twice. 1. Calling Starmer racist was like paying a hitman and 2. Its not a few rotten apples, it’s the whole cider press. Great stuff.

Winner of “one man and his dog whistle” for several consecutive years. The question is why so many hear and respond to that whistle and what can be done about it?😢

Thank you for your usual considered contribution. In the last few days I have exchanged views with a supporter who is an ex- police officer with experience of immigrants in impoverished housing areas. His complaints seem to be based on his view that immigrants do not assimilate into a British culture and that he didn't want his daughter to grow up in a society that is seperately cultured and not multiculured. He wanted to restore a native Britain to a former state but specified one similar to 40 to 50 years ago. That is an impossible ambition even if you deport everyone he doesn't like but it is what Reform supporters appear to want. My own view is that we have a vibrant multicultural society that has assimilated many traditions and aspects of other cultures that make us better overall but still one society. Religion has never been a single theological belief here and neither should it be. Reform supporters seem to want a restoration to something that has never actually existed and cannot be created.

Great article as always Bear.

I genuinely detest Fartage and his so called “party”. Their racism and bigotry, inciting people to harm other human beings, they are abhorrent.

They shout the loudest, especially when faced with scrutiny and our press need to grow a pair. What are they actually so afraid of?

I cannot believe that this excuse for a man could, one day, be our PM. Surely the majority of people in this country have more sense and values than to vote for this bunch of grifters, conmen, charlatans, racists, liars, Russian assets and bigots?

Yet another great piece of writing.

I wonder if any pollsters would ask all those that would vote Reform/Farage a follow up question, have they ever or in future vote , BNP or NF, If they answer is no, why do they think voting Reform is ok?

Not in any way trying to distract from your serious message which mirrors the concerns of many, but great choice of word with “bloviated”. Sort of marine feel to it - whales etc.

Something fishy here (yes, mammals, I know).

Another brilliant piece bear, we covered it ourselves today "Reform UK: Racism or Patriotic Colour-Coding?"

Politicians duck and weave, terrified of saying the word aloud. The prime minister will call a policy racist but not a voter. The home secretary will say “worse than racist” as if inventing a new category solves the problem. Reform’s defenders will scream that the real racism is accusing them of racism. And Farage will raise a pint, grin, and say, “they’re only saying that because I tell the truth.”

Thanks again!

Absolutely spot on again, thank you. Sadly at no time do I see the media highlighting this disgusting behaviour, rather it is normalised and they are invited onto political discussion shows thus further normalising their views. They are racist views along with conspiracy theories and no one should be comfortable giving them air time. Farage has grasped the Trump playbook and Trump is acting out Project 2025! This is where Farage and his dreadful ‘Party’ want to take this country. He has no helpful policies, why would he when destruction is already laid out for him and he can see it playing out in the US in real time. I’m praying that the Reform Party is seen by the majority in this country for what it truly is!!!
